Our Band of  Mares
Our broodmare band is currently focused on quality and not quantity. Each of our mares was selected for individual qualities and not necessarily by today's popular paper trails.   Our mares are hard working women with eye appeal.   Below is the current highlight of our broodmare band.

Cocktails Anyone
"Cocktails" is a 1993 bay Thoroughbred mare.  She was bred, raised and raced by Cindy's  parents Guy  and Barbara Roberts.   Cocktails is a Graded Stakes winner and has earnings of $ 242,545.    She was the 1997 and 1998 Champion Aged Mare as well as the 1998 Champion Sprinter.   She ran and won on tracks such as Del Mar and  Emerald Downs.  She ran until the age of 7 and was retired sound.

Cocktails has two foals to race. The first with earnings of $76,671 and the second of $11,509.

Cocktails was short for a champion Thoroughbred. Built more like a quarter horse, Cocktails measured at only 15.1 hands and a strong 1150 lbs.  She had the heart of a lion and won against horse much larger.  Take a look at the the win photo below from Del Mar where she edged out a much larger champion. Notice her jockey is the Hall of Fame Jockey Gary Stevens.  (That photo is almost like an outtake from the movie Seabiscuit with Gary Stevens aboard who played Red Polard in the blockbuster movie.)
Take a look at this video which is an excerpt from the Washington Thoroughbred Breeders Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremonies, and listen to what Gary Stevens had to say about Cocktails. And watch her quick move to the front of the pack in race after race.  Amazingly enough Cocktails was an aged mare in these clips, running against some of the best young sprinters.

We are very excited about the future of Cocktails as a producer of barrel horses.  She will be bred to a popular Quarter Horse Race Stallion in 2008 for hopes of a filly to continue her line and broaden our program with her genetics. She will then be bred to Frenchmans Falcon in all following years.

The possibilities for this mare's future as a producer shall be the same as her racing career, LIMITLESS.......
